Kerosene

For a heating solution, kerosene might be one to consider.  While they have been around for decades, few people are ready to go out and buy kerosene heaters despite some obvious benefits.  First, they do not require an electricity to work.  They operate solely on kerosene oil.  A gallon of kerosene can equal the heating power of a wheelbarrow full of wood.  There are different types of kerosene heaters available.  You can choose between convection and radiant heat models.

A pure kerosene heater burns cleanly and efficiently—up to 99.99% fuel efficiency.  While most kerosene heaters do a great job of heating a space, some types can actually over do it a bit.  There may be concerns about using kerosene heating in your home since it does give off pollutants like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide when not kept clean and in proper working order.
